The inn has been in continuous operation for 24 years both as a bed & breakfast inn/restaurant and as a bed & breakfast inn only. During the last 8 years it has been a bed and breakfast inn only. However, the dining area and kitchen have been rented for occasional functions by caterers, including weddings, reunions, showers, and other functions.
This beautiful inn is located in the small rural town of Buena Vista in southwest Georgia, about 30 miles east of Fort Benning and Columbus, GA. The circa 1904 main house with Neoclassical Revival-style architecture is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A wrap around front porch with rocking chairs and ceiling fans evokes the charm and renowned hospitality of the old South. Inside, hardwood floors, crystal chandeliers, vaulted ceilings with elegant crown molding, a wide carpeted staircase illuminated through exquisite stained glass windows, antique furnishings, and festive seasonal decorations complement the warmth and grandeur of the home.
The cottage is a cozy, two-storey home adjacent to the main house with a large sitting room and full kitchen. The two buildings have a total of seven guest bedrooms (3 in the main house and 4 in the cottage), all with private baths, accommodating up to 17 individuals.
The main house contains a full restaurant kitchen, with two dining rooms that will accommodate up to 50 individuals. Separate elegant men’s and women’s restrooms (1/2 baths) are in the hallway outside the dining room area. The innkeeper’s living suite on the first level of the main house is a large bedroom with large bath containing a separate claw-foot tub and walk-in shower.

Please call to request a cancellation.
Cancellations for standard room reservations made within 24 hours of arrival date will receive a full refund if paid for in advance. Otherwise no cancellation fee will be charged.
Cancellations for entire Main or Carriage House rentals made within 7 days of arrival date will receive a full refund of the deposit.
Cancellations not made per policy; standard rooms will incur a $25 charge and entire property rental will forfeit deposit.

Check-in is after 3:00pm and is a self serve process for your convenience. Early check-ins can be arranged, subject to availability. Call or email to enquire prior to arrival.
Check-out time is 11:00am. Late check-outs can be arranged, subject to availability and charges may apply. Call or email to enquire prior to arrival.
Complimentary coffee is available in The Cottage on a self serve basis.
***Coming September 2019: All guests will have the option to purchase a full breakfast as well as lunch and dinner at Kane’s, located on the main floor inside Sign of the Dove Inn. Tickets can be charged to your room for added convenience. ***

Smoking is PROHIBITED inside the property. Any damages derived from smoking in your room will be your responsibility and due to Sign of the Dove by SQS immediately. Smoking is allowed outside on the front porch or in the back yard of the property and in the courtyard.
Animals are PROHIBITED regardless of circumstance.
Stained linen due to hair dye, make up or bodily fluids (any blood stained sheets will be immediately disposed of due to health hazard) that can not be cleaned; linen replacement charges will be charged to the card on file. As a courtesy , we email you photos of the damage, cost of replacement and receipt for replacement .
